Branding: Colors, Fonts & Logo
Your branding makes your station instantly recognizable. In Settings you control your colors, fonts and logo — all in one place.
Colors
You can set five core colors:
- Primary — your main brand color, used for buttons and highlights.
- Secondary — supporting color for surfaces and sections.
- Accent — for small pops of color.
- Background — your site's base background.
- Text — your main text color.
Pick colors that contrast well so everything stays easy to read. If text becomes hard to see against a background, adjust your text or background color until it's comfortable.
Fonts
Choose a font pairing — one font for headings and one for body text. The pairings are designed to look good together, so you can pick by feel: elegant, modern, bold, friendly, and so on.
Logo
Upload your logo in Settings. Your logo appears in the site header and footer, and is used for branding across your site. A clear logo on a transparent background (PNG or SVG) looks best.
Photo aspect ratios
You can choose the shape of the frames used for your DJ photos and your show artwork, so your images display the way you intend instead of being cropped. Both settings are in Settings → Branding.
- DJ Photo Aspect Ratio — choose 3:4 portrait (the default), 1:1 square, or 16:9 landscape.
- Show Photo Aspect Ratio — choose 4:3 landscape (the default), 16:9 widescreen, 1:1 square, or 3:4 portrait.
The key is to match the setting to the photos you actually upload. Photos are scaled to fill the frame, so an image that matches your chosen ratio fills it edge to edge with no cropping. If your images are a different shape, they'll be centered and the edges trimmed to fit — so keep the important part (like a face) near the middle.
A few practical tips:
- For portrait DJ headshots, 3:4 works well — aim for around 600×800 pixels or larger.
- For square profile-style photos, use 1:1 and keep them evenly cropped.
- For show artwork, match the ratio to your cover art — square cover art looks best on the 1:1 setting, while a wide banner suits 16:9.
- Use consistent shapes across all your DJs (and all your shows) so your grids look tidy.
Changing a ratio updates every matching photo across your site at once — you don't need to re-upload anything.
Advanced styling
If you know CSS, you can add custom CSS overrides for fine control, and adjust heading and body text sizes. This is optional — most stations never need it.
After you make changes
Branding changes appear right away. If your site looks like it's showing old styles, clear the site cache from Settings and refresh.
Frequently Asked Questions
What image format should my logo be?
A PNG or SVG with a transparent background works best, so your logo sits cleanly on any color.
My text is hard to read — how do I fix it?
Increase the contrast between your text color and background color. RadioSiteMaker also offers contrast-safe text options to keep things legible.
Do branding changes appear immediately?
Yes. If you still see old styling, clear the cache from Settings and reload the page.
Can I use my exact brand colors?
Yes. You can enter precise color values for primary, secondary, accent, background and text.
My DJ or show photos look cropped — how do I fix it?
Set the photo aspect ratio (in Settings → Branding) to match the shape of the images you upload. Photos fill the frame, so a portrait photo in a portrait (3:4) frame won't be cropped, while a wide photo in that same frame would have its sides trimmed.
Will changing the aspect ratio affect photos I've already uploaded?
Yes — it reframes all matching photos instantly, with no need to re-upload. Just pick the shape that best fits your existing images.
